This is simply offered as a small way to thank the people of Patmos for their friendship.
I have nothing unique to tell you about this person or the shop she runs.
| One day we drifted in to look
at the icons and books. She (the lady on the left) spoke almost no English,
we spoke no Greek, yet she communicated her hospitality and helpfulness.
We were interested in a coffee-table book on the "Icons of Patmos",
she brought her younger brother (shown here) into translate, and tell us
that she needed to get a copy from another shop her family ran. We expressed
some interest in the music she was playing in the shop and she wrote out the name and arranged
to get us a copy of it.
I don't even know her name, just that her older brother is one of the monks at the monastery.
